hen we labor
in our jobs day after day, month after month, and some for so many years at the same job we may wake up and think, can this day be any different than yesterday? Our job may be an executive job, manager, owner,
sales person, fast food associate or the lifetime job of being a mother. It doesn't matter what our job is, it is to be done unto the Lord. Think about that! What does that really mean?
Do we realize that when we belong to Christ we are a minister of His Word. A "missionary" right where we are. We need to use our jobs as a mission field, not to
preach, but to serve. Look at each day with joy and excitement. Smile in the mirror and then smile at everyone that God puts in your path.
I tried it and was blown away at what God had all
around me. I hadn't noticed because I was focused on what my job was, I had forgotten to enjoy everyone that God put in my path.
God was putting so many trials in my way that I just
got more and more bent out of shape. Then through the desire to be used of God it finally hit me; my job wasn't important if I didn't stop to see the people He
placed all around me. When the radiator blew four different times, four different ways and in four different areas in the county, it was amazing to see who God put in my path. I'm learning to write thank you notes to so many people that have encouraged me, I need to let them
know that — I am grateful, I saw them and I cared. I am also learning that when I take time to be with Him, He gives me extra time to do my work AND more time to rest!!! It's fun. ~ Julie Bergeron ~ |
