This frosty strawberry pies comes out like frozen dessert — it's not a cake and not cookies — more like delicate, cool, creamy ice cream pie.

Or if you make it in a 9"x13" rectangular pan it will make great ice cream squares.

Ummm, looks good, too.

Frosty Strawberry Pie

Stir together:

    1 c. flour
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. nuts
    1/2 c. melted butter

Sprinkle and spread mixture into the bottom of two 9" pie pans.  Save back 1/4 cup of the above to sprinkle on for a finished touch.

Bake at 350f degrees for 20 min.

Combine:

    1 c. sugar
    2 egg whites
2 c. fresh sliced strawberries (if frozen sweetened strawberries are used, reduce sugar to 2/3 c. )
Beat at high speed for 10 min. (stiff peaks)
Spread on top of baked crumb mixture in the pan

Then spread:

1 c. of whipped cream over strawberry mixture.

Top with remaining saved back crumbs. Keep in refrigerator or freezer before serving.
