grew up in the most remote dessert lands of the Southwest, not finding many flowers at all;  but the excitement was when my family would travel to Dubuque, Iowa to see my grandparents. We would find flowers everwhere along the trip.

Arriving, we would find the most beautiful gardens filled with flowers blooming right in my grandparents' yards. The flowers, along with the love and tenderness of my grandparents, created very special times to remember.
